5 Uses of Used Teas Leaves

1. Paper - After disinfection and decortication, used tea leaves can be re-engineered into fiber materials, such as paper. Recently I met with Jade, a co-founder of Worksheet HK, who is one of the pioneers in this technology. If you're interested, you can read more about them here:

2. Natural Room Deodorizer - Roasted tea leaves can be used to deodorize a room very effectively.

3. Pillow - Used bancha leaves can be put inside to make a tea pillow. 

4. Fertilizer 

Used tea leaves can be used as an effective fertilizer for house plants. 


5. Prevention of rust on iron pots

Used tea leaves when moist can be wrapped in gauze fabric to wipe iron pots and pans to prevent them getting rusty.
